Nigerian Afropop singer, Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu popularly known as Burna Boy has gotten his second Grammy nomination. His 'Twice As Tall' album got the nod to be nominated under the World Music Album alongside other entertainers like Antibalas, Bebel Gilberto, Anoushka Shankar, and Tianariwen. The Port Harcourt singer took to his social media pages to celebrate his back to back nominations.
Burna Boy lost out on an opportunity to be the first Nigerian pop artist to win the Grammy award early this year to Angelique Kidjo. Burna's 'African Giant' album could not bring home the Grammy for him, he would be looking to his latest body of work, 'Twice As Tall' to do the magic this time. 'Twice As Tall' has been doing astronomical numbers on charts across the globe and Burna would hope this would give him his lifelong dream.
A lot of music fans on News Squad are tipping Burna Boy to win the award this time. They believe that the other musicians in the same category as the African Giant do not match up to him in quality. It would take till Jan. 31, 2021, for us to find out if Burna would emerge winner, but what do you think?
