Food Vendor Pours Hot Water On Her Daughter For Refusing To Help Her Hawk

A food vendor in the Oshodi area of Lagos, Mrs Mary Omifunto, emptied a pot of hot water on her 14-year-old daughter, Kaosarat, inflicting burns on many parts of her body. She carried out this heinous act all because of Kaosarat's refusal to hawk for the day.

It is understandable that Kaosarat's refusal to hawk may have caused her to be angry considering this is their only means of livelihood. But does this warrant pouring hot water of your own child? This is why anger management is very key.

Kaosarat supposedly ran to a nearby clinic soon after the incident and some hospital officials went back to meet Mrs Mary and even prevented her from carrying out her vendoring. Mrs Mary was asked by the hospital officials to get some prescribed drugs for her daughter but she refused. Thank God for some of her neighbours who later contributed the sum of #10,000 for the drugs.

Mrs Mary Omifunto is currently in police custody and will most likely be charged after investigations are concluded.
